Protecting Human Judgment in the Age of AI

Judgment Assurance is a decision governance framework for making human judgment in AI-mediated consequential decisions explicit, evidenced, and institutionally accountable.It enables regulators, auditors, insurers, institutional leaders, and other organizations that use AI to inform, influence, or support consequential decisions to assess whether appropriate human oversight is genuinely present. While AI provides speed, scale, and analytical capability, responsibility for consequential outcomes remains human. In practice, however, human judgment is often implicit, undocumented, or diffused across systems and roles, creating gaps in accountability.Judgment Assurance treats human judgment as an organizational asset and provides a structured approach to defining, recording, assigning ownership of, and protecting that judgment over time. Rather than governing AI models themselves, it governs the human decisions to rely on AI. The framework is technology-agnostic, scalable across industries, and designed to preserve institutional accountability as AI-enabled decision environments evolve.
